“To passively accept an unjust system is to cooperate with that system, and thereby to become a participant in it's evil.”  - Martin Luther King

History Speaks

Today the women of the world marched. Today was a defining moment in the nature of what it is to be a Global Citizen. Today, women everywhere, courageously stepped forward as a planetary collective in order to raise their voices in protest. Their voices cried: “We do not agree with this misogynist, fascist, racist, homophobic, xenophobic President, who has been elected to one of the most esteemed positions of leadership in the Western World!”

Just so, in October 1789 the women of France, who became the first group of women in recorded history to engage in a similar pursuit, marched on the Hotel de Ville - the seat of the municipal government of that time. They were 7,000 in number, yet they weren’t shot at as they took cannon and swords from the Militia, and then marched on Versailles. On reaching the King’s Palace they broke into Marie Antoinette’s bedchamber, forcing King Louis XVI and his entire entourage to march back to Paris. The revolutionary zeal of these female protesters amplified to such affect that eventually a group of 65,000 women gathered.

Yesterday, 2.9 million US women marched, and elsewhere in the world similar groups gathered, with men, children and dogs supporting the sacred nature of the Divine Feminine, and on this occasion a lesson was learned, which demands a redefinition of western democracy.

This protest, created by the Mothers, Daughters and Grandmothers of the world, forms a unique power, for they achieved as a collective what other male protesters couldn’t.  Similarly, the women of France in 1789 broke through a line of military bayonets, and weren’t fired on. Then, in 1917 during the onset of the Russia Revolution, female protesters sparked the watch fires of the ensuing insurgence that destabilized the despotic regime of the Tzar. Today again, we see women take matters into their own hands, working intuitively and viscerally, focusing their heartfelt force and intense passion on the only target that matters, the White House, and so heavens knows what might be the outcome.

A personal perspective

Who could not be moved by this? I certainly was, and as an Indigo - some say a Peaceful Warrior - I’m in resonance with these actions. For my empathic stance in the world is to feel out imbalance, and wherever I can, to bring about change. If challenge, injustice, untruth or treachery exists in any form, and in any situation, my inner resolve is called into action, not to fix anything, but to remind the entity of its true blueprint, in love and in joy. Functioning thus means I operate as a transformer - as an Alchemist - gently shaking the world into balance, supplanting any falsehood with a greater truth, drawing everything that is out of joint into emanating the beauty of its Divine essence.

Evoking Divine essence means healing abounds, and healing is a movement back to wholeness. Healing initiates a deeper desire to bring about further change - to heal falsehood by truth, to illuminate ennui by positive action, to transmute sterile passivity by rightful action. I believe change is a force that brings us to the creative essence of our being, to that of LOVE, and so I foster its essence, drawing the quaking dismay of impossibility into the lofty joy of probability. In turn, this brings spirit into matter for we see the account of our soul, which is so much more than any outward material expression. Wasn’t it Eleanor Roosevelt who said:  “People don’t remember you for what you did, but by how you made them feel!” Feeling is the language of the soul!

Old perspectives are made new

On this occasion, the women of the world bring forth an old concept made new - that we forgive without blame - that we expiate the vision of the archetypal dark one by protesting against all the oppressive values that Mr. Trump stands for - values that prevail elsewhere in the world, pertaining to the sanctity of human rights and human dignity. Mr. Trump is the current face of the dark one, and like Adolf Hitler before him, represents the shadow in all of us that needs to be cleansed.

There exists in our world a force, which does not resonate with the essential belief that feeling is the language of the soul, and although many of the world’s great spiritual philosophies suggest that whatever we see without is in some measure existing within, we are palpably living in a most severe deficit. We have created a vibration of disunity and discontent throughout our earthly terrain, and when we demand of ourselves to review this, the need to create an even greater change is bigger than we first imagined. This change must create a social renaissance whereby we rebalance the indifference, greed, corruption and callousness, which have led our social systems to this jeopardy situation. Instead we must employ the force of altruism, which espouses the virtues of inclusivity, love and empathy.

Change is a Herald

The events of the last few days herald this change. They began with Mr Trump being drawn into one of the most significant roles of responsibility on our Planet. Yet, at the same time we know he has assisted in propagating the corporate force that has brought about the gross financial disparity of our western world – for, make no mistake, the material riches garnered by the corporate elite are totally out of balance with the lower economic sectors of our societies.

Observing all this means we simply must create social mechanisms that shift our experience from dismay and disarray, to joy and freedom - from the unfeeling head to the feeling heart. We must endure with our evolutionary zeal, and move ourselves from the disparate systems of employment and government in which we find ourselves contorted or in some cases literally in fear of our lives. We simply must make the necessary soul-stride that brings love and truth into each area of our lives, rather than continuing to compromise ourselves with treachery and tyranny.

Being in the wonder of spirit

If we consciously seek out wonder, the spirit of imagination, the joy of soulful interaction, and the luxuriant nature of truth, rather than engaging in the dispositions of conflict, we bring ourselves into abundance, nourishing our desire to create even further harmony. Living in systems of duality, where the nature of conflict is always drawn to the light, means we have by experience been invested with a quality of courage that makes us stand in the face of the tyrant with a smile that counterbalances their thrust.

Early in life I was discovered to be a synaesthete, a child with an unusual sensitivity and sensory crossover. This meant that sound transformed into visions, and whenever displays of conflict were experienced, such as anger, this force would appear like shards of glass showering the air. Fortunately I’ve now learned to manage my synaesthesia, seeing it as a gift. I’ve learned to ground my intuitive sentience, and have become less disturbed by the face of enmity.

“The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.”
Albert Einstein

Now I’ve found ways of turning blame and accusation into insight and resolution. This, I term ‘in-fronting’, which eschews confrontation, turning all conflict into considered dialogue. For when we stand in the face of challenge with grace and love in our hearts, drawing the force of freedom through our beings, we beseech the face of God to smile with a mighty and joyous countenance. Maybe this resembles the powerful visions that filled the sacred activism of Martin Luther King, and brought us to understand how not to react, using emotional negativities based on the unconscious behaviours of the past. But rather to find ways to respond with unique creative initiatives.

Non-violent peaceful protest

In 1964 Martin Luther King spoke these words as he received the Nobel Peace Prize for his endeavour to free twenty-two million Negroes from the brutality of White supremacy:

“Sooner or later all the people of the world will have to discover a way to live together in peace, and thereby transform this pending cosmic elegy into a creative psalm of brotherhood. If this were achieved, man must evolve from all human conflict a method, which rejects revenge, aggression and retaliation, and the foundation of such a method is love.

I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word. This is why right, being temporarily defeated, is stronger than evil triumphant. I believe that even amid today's mortar bursts and whining bullets, there is still hope for a brighter tomorrow. I believe that wounded justice, lying prostrate on the blood-flowing streets of our nations, can be lifted from this dust of shame to reign supreme among the children of men.

I believe that what ‘self-centered men’ have torn down, ‘men other-centered’ can build up. I still believe that one day mankind will bow before the altars of God and be crowned triumphant over war and bloodshed, and nonviolent redemptive good will proclaim the rule of the land. "And the lion and the lamb shall lie down together and every man shall sit under his own vine and fig tree, and none shall be afraid."

To respond through the avoidance of action, is to become culpable in the treachery of the aggressor. To appear indifferent in the face of social chaos is to allow our spirit to die. To passively accept an unjust system is to cooperate with it. The horror of what takes place in the Gaza Strip, in the city of Aleppo, and on the mountainous terrains of Afghanistan proves to us that there is a force of darkness in our world that surely must be reminded of the light. To hold human torment in the forefront of ones consciousness, and transpose it through the grace of prayer, is a profound way to ask God to intercede for us.

Modernity at odds with the past

Despite our amazing achievements in science and technology, something basic is missing, for there is such vast ‘soul-poverty’ in our lives, standing in glaring contrast to our material abundance. The richer we’ve become in a material perspective, the poorer we’ve become in spiritual ethos. We have learned to fly the air like birds, and swim the sea like fish, but we have not learned the simple art of living together peacefully, as brother and sister.

Reflecting on this brings Gandhi to mind. Gandhi excelled in his teachings by drawing the corruption of opposition into the composition of creative conversation, and influenced Martin Luther King to create a peaceful strategy in the face of opposition. This was known as NVP or ‘non-violent-peaceful-protest’, and Gandhi is reported to have said: “First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win!”

Personal tests concerning non-reactivity

I’ve had my own tests recently concerning non-violent peaceful protest, for at the beginning of November I attended a Spiritual Expo in Scottsdale, Arizona. This was entitled CELEBRATE YOUR LIFE, and brought into sharp contrast the work that still needs to be done, to dispel the reactionary emotion that wishes to subdue peaceful alternatives.

This weekend event gathered together some of the most revered speakers of the US Mind, Body, Spirit community - people such as Marianne Williamson, Gregg Braden, Jean Houston, Carolyn Myss, and Collette Baron-Reid - all who gave their unique statements about freedom, love and peace, and conjured in our minds a yearning for the atonement of soul-poverty. Many suggested that we use meditation and prayer, as enlightened principles of spiritual growth. For how can we possibly celebrate life without first being willing to renounce our transgressions.

At the conference, I decided to attend a few choice workshops during the course of the weekend, yet when I approached the Box Office I quickly found that I couldn't do this. Apparently, the payment system consisted of a system of payments that were fairly high in price, and so I asked for flexibility. Gratefully, on the ‘pre-conference’ day I was asked to pay a figure just over two hundred and fifty dollars to attend Collette Baron-Reid’s workshop – a day Collette was sharing with John Holland - this was wonderful and I had dinner with Collette later, meeting with her other luminaries in the field.

On the second day I returned to attend a Jean Houston workshop, but was told that unless I spent a figure in excess of $600 I couldn't attend. I tried to firmly yet graciously negotiate, saying that I had been allowed into a workshop the previous day, but was emphatically told that my attendance would not be allowed. The Box Office person evidently found my firm but gracious interaction very uncomfortable, and so I left humorously suggesting that I departed an unhappy Englishman – after all I hadn’t held “I cannot” in my vocabulary for many years!

Emotional drama identifies the contrast

During the afternoon I was about to enter a Gregg Branson workshop with a companion who knew Gregg well, this time with a special entrance pass granted by Gregg himself, when I was approached by the Organizer of the event, a rather fierce woman named Liz Dawn. Liz asked if she could speak with me, and I suggested I had a few minutes before Gregg’s workshop, or could it wait until later? She was demanding, and so I decided to give her a few minutes of my time, during which she launched into a tirade about her booking protocols. I listened for so long, intuiting that this was merely her way of controlling people, and then suggested that it wasn’t necessary for her to continue, because I was in full awareness of her protocol, yet simply felt not in vibrational match with the process. At which point she yelled: “You are not welcome here. I’m getting Security!”

I was dumbfounded. Here I was in a country, which espouses freedom of speech as a constitutional right, and yet here I was being summarily dismissed from an event that purported to be about the dissemination of spiritual freedom.  Not wishing to embarrass myself, my companion, or indeed any of the people standing around me… I left the building. Except that at the Hotel entrance I was pursued by aggressive security officials who attempted to muscle me out of the premises!

In this moment, I attempted summoning a cab, yet my cell phone rang. I answered and a client who is a US Attorney was calling in request of information. I asked her if she could firstly grant me an answer to the question – “was my expulsion from the building legal?” – at which point she replied “No!” It seems that I was being expelled from a public not private domain, and was obviously not drunk or disorderly – but had simply disagreed!

I surrendered my experience into the hands of the divine, and yet seriously questioned whether my esteemed speakers at the event should support a cause that purports to be celebrating life, when in fact its organizer proves to be a tyrant.

The oppressive patriarchy and the Cold War

Two days later Mr. Trump became the president elect of the mighty superpower of the USA. This seismic shift brought into sharp focus the democratic function of all free people on the Globe. Through contraction, bewilderment, dismay, anger and dissatisfaction the deeper shadow aspects of the collective unconscious began to emerge – particularly those traits associated with suppressing peace through warfare, cruelty, mind-control, sexual harassment, homophobia, xenophobia, and the manipulation of people through fear.

On November 9th 2016 many American people became unhappy or fearful, and most freethinking people around the Globe became disoriented, for the US Electorate it would seem had made a big mistake.

I also reflected on the fact that on November 9th 1938, another horrific twist of fate occurred through a terrifying pogrom against the Jewish people. This was ‘Kristallnacht’, which effectively led to the Holocaust. Then again, on November 9th 1989 the Berlin Wall collapsed significantly finishing the Cold War, and earning its own place in history as a powerful movement towards discernable peace.

This latter incident brought to light the shadow-lands of the oppressive Patriarchy curdled in the cup of totalitarianism, and also helped to create the contemporary force of transparency, arising from the movement towards collective democratic freedom. This was preempted by Mikhail Gorbachev saying to Ronald Reagan “I’m going to do something terrible to you; I’m going to take away your enemy!” The spy came in from the cold, and warmed himself by the fires of freedom, and the Cold War morphed into another war. Lamentably, the governing super-powers of the west immediately created the specter of the Islamic Terrorist - who in turn gave vent to the dread we all fear, of evil perpetrating evil!

Resolutions that may bring a future of promise

Now that people around the world are so deeply unhappy, the true spirituality of inner soul work is the only force that will win back our hearts, creating a cure for the craziness that has occurred. All Americans must now exercise their truest belief in the betterment of humankind, through respecting the democratic process, allowing freedom to arise from an expression of unconditional love rather than unbridled hate. All Americans must recognize that whatever happens over the next few months, it will change the face of global politics forever.

This means that the American people are being encouraged to surrender to a higher power, and to develop true emotional intelligence. In turn, through the practical application of love and forgiveness, healing could be applied to the soul of America.

This means that effectively every US Citizen will be called upon to give up their emotional disease to the Divine, for God’s specialism is the healing of the heart. This means that every self-realized Global Citizen will be asked to feel out a new way of being, and to interpret a new form of democracy.

Democracy means that the government of the people is vested in the people, and exercised by the people, directly or indirectly through a system of representation – of the people, by the people, for the people. This system is now taking up the new advantage that the people of the world join together with a unified intention. The people of the world must link with a common purpose, and that being their love of freedom. The people of our world must determine ways of living co-creativity, in respect of one another hearts. So let us all pray:

Dear Souls,
May the soulful part of your being honor these forthcoming days of political uncertainty, as the President Elect of the US applies himself to his august office.
May grace permeate through Mr. Trump’s intelligence so that he chooses the way of love, truth, justice, and beauty.
May all distress be removed from the hearts of minds of all Global Citizens.
May we be personally led by soulful meaning, just as our bodies desire oxygen.
And may all our days be lit with the glory of LOVE & SURRENDER.
And so it is
AMEN
